Top 10 Most Dangerous Countries in the World [2022]

We all know countries are different from each other by geographical region, government system, religion, and other things.

We may be unaware of the countries that were considered as the most dangerous country by the ongoing Domestic and International Conflict and the degree of Militarization.

There are some dangerous countries we need to know about before we are traveling or migrating. We all people didn’t want war or conflict in the countries also if there are war or conflict happening in the countries we try to leave the country as soon as possible.

There are many people who are stuck in those dangerous countries and risking their life. 

Every Year there is a published Global Peace Index where every country is listed according to how much peace there is in the country and gives them a certain score.

In the list, the countries that obtain the largest GPI score are considered as the least peaceful countries or dangerous countries.

By these Global Peace Index published in 2022, we make the list of top 10 most dangerous countries in the world 2022.

Russia is a transcontinental country located in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia that shares borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Poland in the West.

The total area of Russia is 17.1 million Km2 which is the largest among all of the countries and the total population is 146,748,590 which is 9th largest among all countries.

Mainly Russian 80.9% and Tatar 3.9 % ethnic groups live here along with 74% Christianity and 15% No religion people live here. The Capital of Russia is Moscow and the official language is Russian whereas the federal dominant-party semi-presidential constitutional republic government is in Russia. 

Russia is considered the most powerful country after the United States as well as President Vladimir Putin also considered as the most powerful person in the world.

In world war II losses of the Soviet Union lead to the death of 26.6 million people according to a study by the Russian Academy of Science among than 8 million are military deaths as calculated by the Russian Ministry of Defence.

There is much terrorism that has been committed in major Russian cities at the end of the 20th century such as the 1999 apartment bombing, Beslan School siege, Budyonnovsk hospital hostage crisis and Moscow theatre hostage crisis.

Due to all of this terrorism and other according to GPI, it is in the 10th position of the top 10 most dangerous countries in the world 2022 with a 3.049 GPI score.

The central African Republic is a landlocked country in Central African lies between South Sudan to the east and Cameroon to the west. The Total Area of the Central African Republic is 622,984 Km2 whereas the total population is 4,666,368. The Capital city of the Central African Republic is Bangui and the official language is French and Sango.

There are 89.5% Christianity, 8.5% Islam religions live here and the main ethnic group is Baggara Arabs, Baka, Banda, Bayaka, Fula, Mbaka, Yakima, Yulu, Zande and others. 

There are many Violent crimes such as armed robbery, homicide, and aggravated battery is common and the large areas of the country are controlled by armed groups that kidnap, kill civilians and injure.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country located in Central Africa that shares a border with Rwanda, the Central African Republic and Burundi. The total area of DR Congo is 2,345,409 Km2 which is the second-highest in Africa and the total population is over 84 million.

The capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is Kinshasa and the official languages are French, Lingala, Kikongo, Swahili, and Tshiluba. The religions mostly live here are Christianity, Catholics, and other religions. 

In 2008 over 5.4 million people found dead in Congo by starvation, diseases, and the Congo war. Violent crimes such as armed invasion, assault, robberies and the lack of the resources to effectively respond to crime by police are the main cause of having a list in less peaceful countries.

Libya is a country in the Maghreb region in North Africa that was bordered by Egypt to the east and Algeria to the west.

The total area of Libya is 1,759,541 Km2 and the total population is 6,871,287. The Capital of Libya is Tripoli and the official language is Arabic also the spoken language is Libyan Arabic Berber.

The major Ethenic groups are Arab-Berber and most religions live here is Islam. Over 25,000 people died in the Libyan Civil War which includes soldiers, children, women, and the journalist also.

The total Area of Somalia is 637,657 Km2 and the total population is 15,893,219. The Capital City of Somalia is Mogadishu and the official language is Somali and Arabic.

Mainly Islam religion lives in Somalia and the government is the Federal Parliamentary republic. Somalia is the 6th most dangerous country in the world according to the Global Peace Index score 3.302 published in 2022.

In Somalia, terror attacks mainly happen at Mogadishu International airport, restaurants, hotels, and Government buildings where the crowd of people is maximum.

Around 50 thousand people have been killed since the civil war started in 1991 according to the Necrometrics. Due to the effective police forces being absent, unstable government and security are the major cause of having a list in most dangerous countries.

South Sudan is a landlocked country in East-Central Africa lies between Ethiopia to the east and the Central African Republic to the west and Kenya, the Central African Republic, Uganda shared borders.

The Total area of South Sudan is 619,745 Km2 and the total population is 12,778,250 and the capital city is Juba. There are many religions live here most of them are Christianity around 60.5%, 6.2% Islam and 0.4% others.

The spoken languages of South Sudan are Juba Arabic, English, Shilluk, Nuer and others among them English and Swahili is the official language. In the Global Peace Index(GPI) published in 2022, South Sudan is in the number 4th position with a 3.447 GPI score.

The widespread violent crime including robberies, assaults, carjacking, kidnapping, civil unrest, ongoing conflict makes South Sudan one of the dangerous countries in the world.

About 40 thousand people were estimated to have been killed in the war in South Sudan and the terrorism was introduced by Osama bin Laden and flowers by building training camps and setting up businesses.

The causes of the conflict in South Sudan are ranging from ethnic tensions, the power struggle between President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar and for management of oil resources.

The total area of Syria is 185,190 km2 and the total population is 17,500,657 also the GDP is $50.28 billion. The capital city of Syria is Damascus and 87% Islam, 10% Christianity, and  3% Druzism religion live here.  

Syria is the second most dangerous country in the world, according to the 2022 Global peace Index with a 3.539 score. An estimated 55,000 children, 470,000 have been killed in the Syrian conflict. Syrian Civil war is the ongoing civil war since the 1980s.

There is a rise of radical Islamist groups such as al-Queda, ISIL, al-Nusra affiliated group in Syria. There are altogether 40 thousand people who died in the war and among them, 652 children died in the year 2016 more than in any other year of the civil war.

Afghanistan is included in the last position in the global peace index with a 3.644 score which is the highest among all of the country so it is considered as the least peaceful country or the dangerous country in the world. In 2018 the largest attack happened where 95 were killed by one of the leading terrorist group Taliban.

Afghanistan has been a target of different attackers and also the legal government of Afghanistan is weak along with apparently quite a corruption which leads to the rise of a large Islamic insurgency group like the Taliban.

Afghanistan has the highest number of attacks from terrorism and war than any other country so Afghanistan is in our 1st list of top 10 most dangerous countries in the world.
