Manaslu is 8,163 meters tall and is 26,781 ft. above sea level. The meaning of this mountain name is ‘mountain of spirit’. This comes from Sanskrit word Manasa which means ‘soul’ or ‘intellect’.

This mountain was first climbed by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu on 9th May 1956. This mountain region is very famous for trekking and other adventurous things.

This mountain is located under the Manaslu Conservation Area.

7. Dhaulagiri I

The name of this mountain comes from Sanskrit which means white, beautiful and dazzling and Giri means peak or mountain.

Mount Annapurna I is 34 Km far in the east from this mountain. This mountain was first climbed by Swiss, Austrian and Nepali expedition on 13th May 1960.

6. Cho Oyu

This mountain was first climbed by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jöchler and sherpa pasang Dawa Lama on 19th October 1954 via the North-west ridge.

The name Cho ‘Oyu’ of this beautiful mountain comes from the Tibetan language which means ‘Turquoise Goddess’ in Tibetan.

5. Makalu

Makalu was first climbed by Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy of the French expedition on 15th May 1955. The shape of this mountain is a four-sided Pyramid and is an isolated peak.

One of the routes is from the southeast part of Nepal and the other is from the north side in Tibet. This more than 8,000 meter peak is first climbed by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on 29 May 1953.

Everest is the main tourist attraction of Nepal and this mountain is protected under Sagarmatha National Park. This peak plays a vital role in the economy of Nepal.
