That is to say, Avon bottles from decades ago are considered valuable today, whether or not they have their original contents.

However, with so many Avon bottles, it can be difficult to navigate the waters and identify what is valuable and what isn’t.

That is why we have prepared this article on the top 10 most valuable Avon bottles. We will start by telling you about the history of Avon bottles. After that, we will show you some of the most valuable Avon bottles and their value. Finally, we’ll tell you what makes an Avon bottle worth. So, let’s get started without wasting any time.

What Are Avon Bottles?

The story of the Avon bottles begins when a door-to-door bookseller noticed that the women who answered the doors were a lot more curious about the scent on his body than the books he was selling.

He decided to sell perfumes instead of books. He founded the “California Perfume Company” in 1886. After the great success of the company’s “Avon” perfume, in 1939, the company changed its name to “Avon Product Inc”. Later the company expanded and started producing other cosmetic products such as aftershaves, lotions, and bath oils.

Avon bottles are those glass bottles in which the company’s fragrances and other products are sold in. These bottles were shaped like some other different things.

The first figured bottles had the shape of a boot. Over time, a wide variety of shapes were introduced including cars, motorcycles, trains, boats, watches, guns, animals (peacocks, dogs, horses, etc.), humans, and many more.

What makes Avon Bottles Valuable?

The today’s Avon bottles are not valuable, but only vintage Avon bottles are worthy collectibles.

The things that make an Avon bottle valuable include when it was made, how rare it is, and its condition.

  • Age

The older a product is, the more valuable it is likely to be and the same is the thing with Avon bottles. So, Avon bottles that are produced earlier are generally more valuable than the later ones.

  • Rarity

Avon bottles that are generally hard to find are more valuable than those that are more easily available. This is one of the main reasons why the pre-1965 Avon bottles are very valuable.

  • Condition

Whether the bottle is opened or not, the original content of the bottle, the content stickers, original packages, less scratches, or cracks are the factors that determine the condition of the bottle. The Avon bottles become more valuable if they are closer to their original condition.

Final Thoughts

The Avon bottles of the yesteryear are worth collecting because they are very valuable today as you can make a tidy $50-$200 with a vintage Avon bottle which is relatively low compared to other collectibles but it is good.

I have a “Bucking Bronco’ after shave decanter. It’s a gold cowboy sitting on a bronze color glass horse with it’s head down.
Was wondering if it’s worth anything?
